(Reception and Film Screening on January 24th and a Seminar and Discussion on January 25th)

Breaking the Monopoly of Mediocrity, a cross-country tour focused on education reform in local communities, will stop in Birmingham on January 24th to include a screening of the film, Won't Back Down followed by a reception hosted by the U.S. Chamber's Institute for a Competitive Workforce and National Chamber Foundation.

January 24th Movie Screening & Reception:

5:00 p.m. - Registration (Popcorn and drinks for movie available)

5:25 p.m. - Opening Remarks

5:30 p.m. - Private Screening “Won’t Back Down”

7:30 p.m. - Networking Reception and Discussion (Hors d’oeuvres and Cocktails provided)

8:30 p.m. - Adjournment

On January 25th the seminar continues at 8:00 a.m. to include panel discussions hosted by the U.S. Chamber's Institute for a Competitive Workforce, the National Chamber Foundation, and the Birmingham Business Alliance. Discussion topics will include the current state of education reform and "what's next" for Alabama school districts.
